*Your Name: Jessica @ Life with Duke
*Where Are You From?:: Greater Boston, Massachusetts
*Animal(s) (Age, Name, Breed)?:: Approx 1.5 years old, Duke, Boston Terrier/Boxer
*Interesting Facts About Your Animal(s)?:: Duke love playing fetch! He has been known to jump over tables, the bed, and the couch all in pursuit of a ball. (I’ve got the broken dishes to prove it!) His favorite hiding spot is under the couch, he scoots around there with his Kong for hours, giving himself rug burn on his belly! He loves to cuddle and snuggle under the blankets at night, resting his head on a pillow.
*Animal(s) Favorite Treat?:: Peanut butter! Especially when it is stuffed in a Kong!
*Animal(s) Favorite Trick?:: Duke doesn’t have any awesome tricks right now – if anything it would be his ability to wait patiently for a toy to be thrown and then do anything to catch it! We’ve made great progress on his sit & stay recently – we figured better to teach him those kinds of commands first and the tricks can come later!
*Perspective On Adopting A Rescue?:: Adopting Duke has been such a rewarding experience. He is such a great dog, full of energy and love. He thrives around people and shivers when it gets below 50 degrees, so it breaks my heart to think of him out as a stray on a cold night. I am so thankful we have saved him from anymore cold nights or something worse! I would imagine that having any dog would be rewarding, but there is something that makes me feel all the more grateful that Duke has joined our family knowing what fate he might have faced otherwise. Our world is better off with Duke, and I’m sure that Duke’s world is better off with us!
*Favorite Quote?:: Saving just one dog won’t change the world, but surely it will change the world for that one dog!
