Wagging Wednesday – House Wolf K9 Dog Biscuits

Who is filling out this interview and what is your position at House Wolf?

Being filled out by founders of House Wolf.. Ken & Ralf

When was House Wolf K-9 Dog Biscuits Founded?
We would need to go back several years to our Sasha, Dakota & Kayak… It was Sasha, Dakota and Our Kayak who inspired us to start making their own biscuits. Being that we own Edelweiss Bakery & Cafe we already had many of the all natural ingredients on the premises and since we were providing healthy meals to our patrons, we thought why not make their own biscuits here at the bakery as well.

We were concerned about what they didn’t need in their diets so we researched a more holistic approach to their feeding. The Wolf came to mind and being our K-9 friends are not to far removed from the Wolf, we research on how they lived and ate in the wild. Our three didn’t need artificial food colorings, preservatives and starches and syrups (sweeteners) nor did they need Humectant and Plasticizer so their biscuits and treats maintained dampness and flexibility. This is where we developed a biscuit for the three of them that had a much more healthier approach. The Name House Wolf K-9 Dog Biscuits was born in July 2012

Do you ship, if so where ?
Yes, we ship within all of our 51 States and all APO’s….

I hear you donate to Rescues, Shelters and K-9 Foundations, why did you decide to do this ?
We first started with Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue of New England for our passion and love is the rescued Siberian and All K-9’s… We had received messages from individuals who had K-9’s with certain health and dietary needs and we were asked if we would make biscuits specially formulated for such needs. For most of these questions from the K-9 Guardians were of dogs that were rescued or being fostered from and through shelters & rescues who came with several dietary issues. Not realizing how many Shelters & Rescues were actually out there and so many of them with financial difficulties, this is where we extended ourselves into the Shelters, Rescues & Foundations in helping their cause by donations of either monies or shipment of biscuits. We also promote on our House Wolf K-9 Dog Biscuits Face Book Page “Adopt, Rescue, Foster or Donate even if it is just your time”

Do you have any furry friends at home?
Yes, Keysha who is an alumni from Patriot Siberian Husky Rescue and she was 8 hours away from being euthanized, placed into a foster care in Vermont. and our Struga who is a “re-home” to us for his family could no longer have him within their home for they had a new-born child and did not feel comfortable. If they only knew what a sweet and beautiful boy he is, and so loving and docile… We were the lucky ones. Prior to Keysha and Struga, we were guardians to Sasha, Dakota & Kayak from 1996 – 2012. They were the inspiration and the best teachers anyone could ask for in being a better Guardian… May the Rest in Peace Together at the Rainbow Bridge. Always in our Hearts and Never Forgotten.

We also have on our Face Book Page newsletters of Health & Wellness, healthy & nutritious recipes, contests, photos of K-9’s enjoying their House Wolf Biscuit treats and testimonials. On our Web Site and Face Book page we have a photo gallery of all the guardians who have submitted photos of their K-9’s..
