*What is your position for your Animal Rescue/Shelter?
Co-Founder of Against All Odds Rabbit Rescue
*What is the name of your Animal Rescue/Shelter?
Against All Odds Rabbit Rescue
*Where are you located?
*Do you offer any awareness programs to your community?
We do some talks at different schools and educate the public. We also run the Canadian Rabbit Hopping Club, which is a club for rabbit agility. We do performances in different places and through that, we can do talks on rabbit care and the pros of adopting from rescues. You can see what the CRHC is like on the website –
*How long has your Animal Rescue/Shelter been around for?
AAORR has only been running for a little over a year.
*What types of animals do you have at your Animal Rescue/Shelter?
*If someone wanted to become a volunteer, how could they?
They could become a Foster
*What types of items do you take as donations?
Oxbow pellets, hay, x-pens, gift cards to grocery stores, monetary donations to our vet clinic, toys, blankets/sheets, litter pans, wood stove pellets for litter
*Do you have any fundraisers coming up that you want my viewers to know about?
We have one fundraiser through the year that doubles as a educational event to the public calledBunanza, which takes place July 26 2014. Info is here ~ http://bunanza.ca/
*What is the adoption process like?
We first have the potential families fill out an application, which includes information on their rabbit experience, members of the household, where the rabbit will be kept, etc. Then we meet in a neutral place and talk with the people, find out what they are like and how the rabbit interacts with them (and vice-versa). If they pass this stage, we will bring the rabbit and do a home visit with them, see exactly where the rabbit will be living/how the current rabbit they have lives if they have one. If every works out, the bunny is adopted.
*What does your shelter/rescue hope to achieve in 2014?
Just helping out rabbits, finding them good homes and educating the public on rabbit care. There just are not enough sources out there for rabbit welfare that the public commonly sees, so we’re hoping to change that.http://canadianrabbithoppingclub.com/
