What a busy weekend we had here in Fort McMurray! After my Christmas party on Sunday I went down to the Newfoundlanders Club as the Pawsitive Second Chance Animal Rescue Society was having their Panta Paws Silent Auction Night.
I had a special surprise for them!As soon as I walked in the door I was given a cute teal ribbon to wear for the night. You could purchase 50/50 tickets as well as tickets for a TV! They had information laid out about the animal rescue and a projection screen showed animals up for adoption as well as logos of all the business’/people who donated to the auction.
The silent auction was huge! So many amazing items donated were lining one wall of the room. I hope they had a great turn out as I left about 2.5 hours into the night.
Contessa from PSCARS had no clue what they were about to recieve from us. I put their present inside a photo frame and covered up the front of it. When the time came we went to the microphone on the stage and presented her with it. We both teared up. Anything to do with animals and helping others makes me joyful & emotional. Which is another reason I didn’t really speak on the mic because I would have busted into a blubbering mess.
Four Hundred Dollars from our Christmas fundraiser was donated to them and I couldn’t be more happier to pick them as a recipient. They do so many great things for such deserving animals.
I want to thank my amazing mom & two aunts for helping make the amazing bone ornaments I sold this year. You all have caring hearts and I am so grateful to have you all in my life. Another thank you to all the people who purchased a bone ornament from me! This fundraiser would’nt be successful without you! Bigger things are currently in the works for next year, so stay tuned!
