Pet Spotlight – Cody & Bella

Well after a down day yesterday due to surgery, Rolo & I are back up and blogging today!! He was such a great dog-nurse sitting down beside me on the couch as I tried to rest. Dogs do make you feel better! Now onto today blog! A little while ago you seen a post about an adorable, sleek black cat named Willie, well today you can find out all about Willie’s dog-sibs; Bella & Cody! Let’s get the party started!

*What is your name?
Kristy Boulos

*Where are you from?
Chicago, IL

*What is your pet(s): (Age, Breed & Name)?
8, Labrador Retriever, Cody
7, Mixed Breed, Bella (We did one of those swab DNA tests on her and they told us she’s Brittany, Chinese Shar Pei, American Eskimo and 1 unidentified breed that they didn’t have in their system yet)

*What are some interesting facts about your pet(s)?
Cody was on an inside spread of Inc. Magazine! I had him participate in a client photo shoot that was featured a few years ago.

Bella is as smart as a whip and you can pretty much teach her any trick. She can bark loud and if you say, shhh, she’ll bark quietly. She knows how to give Cody a kiss if he’s sitting next to her, put her leash and collar in your hand, she can roll a ball to you, plus many more.

Cody and Bella were both a part of our engagements pics and wedding. Our special day wouldn’t have been the same without them! They are our best friends.

unnamed4*What is your pet (s) favorite treat?
Cody loves bananas. He will literally run to anyone that he sees eating a banana. He’s sat down perfectly in front of strangers on the street because they were eating a banana. If he hears you peeling a banana he will come running from absolutely anywhere.

Bella’s favorite treat is anything her dad gives her. She’s such a sucker for him.

*What is your pet(s) favorite trick?
Bella is so great at many tricks, I would say she loves them all, as long as she gets a treat after it. Cody’s favorite trick/game is hide and seek. He loves finding you around the house. Even if you hide in the same spots every time, he gets just as excited when he finds you.

*Where is your pet(s) favorite place to go?
Cody and Bella’s favorite place to go is our family’s lake-house. They know that they’ll have a lot of space to run and they also know they’ll get to visit with their beagle cousins and grandma and grandpa when they’re there.

*Perspective on Adopting a Rescue?
I think adoption is great and I’d like to rid people of the perception that the pets available at rescues or shelters automatically have behavior issues. There are circumstances beyond our control as to the reasons why people may have given up a pet and you can find wonderful, loving companions at a rescue near you.

unnamed2*What’s your favorite thing to do with your pet(s)?
I love going to the dog beach or boating with the dogs. They are so happy and we have a lot of fun together!

*What is your favorite quote?
My goal in life is to be as good of a person my dog already thinks I am.

Or I also like this one: “For me a house or an apartment becomes a home when you add one set of four legs (or 3!), a happy tail, and that indescribable measure of love that we call a dog.”

*Favorite website to get pet information from?
I follow Karen Becker’s social media and website and get a lot of information from her. I tend to take a more natural approach.

*Do your pets (s) love to go for car rides?
Cody HATES the car, he always has, but he likes when we get somewhere and gets excited to get out of the car. Bella likes car rides and will sit by the back door of the car waiting to get in.

unnamed3*What’s your favorite animal product?
This is a tough one. If you asked Cody, his favorite products would be food related (Bravo Homestyle Complete or Caru stews) and Bella’s would be toys. But, I’d say tough toys because Bella always tears them apart.

*Why do you think volunteering at an animal rescue/shelter is important?
Volunteering is important because there are so many rescue animals available for adoption that deserve loving homes, just like mine. I help with rescue fundraising events and help find pets homes when people are getting rid of their pets for one reason or another. Every pet deserves a loving home and a second chance.
