Pet Blogger Spotlight – Fur Everywhere

Today on our blog we are learning all about fellow pet blogger; Sierra from Fur Everywhere. Which I think is a very fitting name for a pet blog! She blogs about all things cat and you can find an abundance of information on her blog page including product reviews & giveaways –> (

*Who is filling out this interview?
Sierra Koester

*Where are you from?
Denver, CO.

*Tell me a little about yourself?
I am a cat lover and am owned by two kitties. I’ve always loved animals and wanted to be a veterinarian when I was growing up. I’ve been a freelance writer and professional blogger since 2006 and love what I do. In addition to being a writer, I volunteer with a local cat shelter, Cat Care Society. I socialize the kitties in the shelter regularly, which makes them more adoptable, and I write blog posts for the shelter’s website.

*What is your blog called?
Fur Everywhere.

*When did you start blogging?
I began Fur Everywhere in 2006.

*Why did you start blogging?
I’ve always loved kitties, and I wanted to share my passion with others. I began Fur Everywhere as a way to entertain cat lovers and to inform them about important cat issues.

*How often do you blog? Is it a set schedule or random posts?
I do my best to blog every weekday. I have a set schedule for the type of posts I will do each day. On Mondays, I participate in Mancat Monday. On Tuesdays, I participate in the Opt to Adopt blog hop, where bloggers features animals who need forever homes. On Wednesdays, I feature product reviews and giveaways. I remember my cat, Jewel, who went to the Rainbow Bridge last August, on Thursdays by posting photos and stories about her. On Fridays, I blog about a cat-related topic, such as a cat health condition, cat care tips, breed profiles, or cat behavioral issues.

*What is your blog about?
Fur Everywhere is all about cats.

*Do you have any animals?
Yes, I have two cats. Carmine is an adorable orange tabby, and Milita is a beautiful lynx-point Siamese.

*What do you hope to achieve with your blog in 2015?
I hope to continue to entertain and inform cat lovers. I want to continue to raise awareness about homeless cats who need loving homes as well, focusing specifically on senior and special needs cats. I also hope to work with more brands and book authors this year.

*Have you ever attended any Blog Conferences? If so, what ones and how was it?
I have not had the opportunity to attend any blogging conferences thus far. My dream is to attend a BlogPaws Conference next year. I would love the opportunity to meet my blogging colleagues and friends as well as to connect with brands and learn how to make Fur Everywhere an even better blog.

*Any special events or appearances coming up?
I will be working at some of Cat Care Society’s events this summer and fall. Specifically, I plan to work at Cat Care’s Festival of Felines and the Tails of the Painted Cats Gala. I also plan to attend Denver’s Pet Expo this summer.

*What do you get inspiration from?
I get a lot of inspiration from Carmine and Milita. The kitties at Cat Care also provide me with inspiration. I regularly read cat books, magazines, blogs, and online articles that give me inspiration as well.

*Any advice for someone wanting to start a Pet Blog?
I would encourage anyone wanting to start an animal blog to connect with other bloggers. BlogPaws has a great community of pet bloggers who are happy to help you along the way. Additionally, the Cat Blogosphere is an amazing place to meet cat bloggers.

*What are some of your favorite pet blogs to read?
There are so many great blogs out there that it’s hard to pick favorites! I really love reading The Island Cats, Melissa’s Mochas, Mysteries, and Meows, Sparkle the Designer Cat Featuring Summer, The Conscious Cat, and Brian’s Home.

*Anything else you would like to add?
I want to say a big thank you to all of my readers who visit Fur Everywhere regularly. I appreciate you all so much!

So nice to see our friend Sierra here, even if now we learned that she doesn’t like our blog!!! lol!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Live and learn!!! Love it!!
That’s why I just say “if I follow a blog, then it is one of my faves!!”
Seriously, there are others she didn’t mention too that we KNOW that she likes quite a bit, so it’s all good!!!
    I needed a chuckle anyway ;)
