Today is National Dog Day, even though I am sure all your dog lovers celebrate this daily. Today is a day dedicated on the “Pet Calendar” to our furries! This day was created back in 2004 by Colleen Paige, a pet & family lifestyle expert and big animal advocate. Does that name sound familiar? She also founded, National Puppy Day, National Mutt Day, National Cat Day and various other important pet days!
We wanna see those snugly, furry & fuzzy faces!
Head on over to our Facebook page.
“National Dog Day serves to help galvanize the public to recognize the number of dogs that need to be rescued each year, and acknowledges family dogs and dogs that work selflessly each day to save lives, keep us safe and bring comfort. Dogs put their lives on the line every day – for their law enforcement partner, for their blind companion, for a child who is disabled, for our freedom and safety by detecting bombs and drugs and pulling victims of tragedy from wreckage.” (Paragraph Credit: http://www.nationaldogday.com)
I want to share some of my all time favorite dog quotes:
“I have found that when you are deeply troubled, there are things you get from the silent devoted companionship of a dog that you can get from no other source” – Doris Day
“I gave you my house when you were alone, When I walk thru the door it now feels like home, Tail wagging and waiting our bond quickly grew , Now tell me who rescued who?” – Unknown
“Saving just one dog won’t save the world, but surely it will change the world for that one dog” – Unknown
