Barkworthies Launches New Program – Chews Rescue

Barkworthies is no stranger to our blog, we have done a pet product review (click here to view)  for them before and have also had an exclusive interview with them (click here to view).  “Barkworthies treats and chews are completely digestible and contain absolutely no preservatives, chemicals, or additives. We only use the best ingredients and most of our products contain only a single ingredient. (Quote Credit: They make affordable all natural treats and they have just launched a new program called Chews Rescue. We again caught up with Bill from Barkworthies to find out a little more about this new program and give you all some information about some contests as well as fundraising that is going on. *How long has this business been around for?
Barkworthies launched in 2012.

*Why was it started and what do you specialize in?
Avrum Elmakis and his wife, Lauren Elmakis, founded Barkworthies on the philosophy that “simpler is better”. The couple struggled finding all natural treats and chews that were affordable for their beloved dogs, Espy and Sushi. After noticing that pet aisles were full of poor quality products that were filled with additives, preservatives and artificial ingredients, they started researching the market and sourcing standards. Soon after, the business took off when like-minded dog owners discovered Barkworthies’ superb, single-ingredient treats met the premium quality standards they felt their own pets deserved.  At Barkworthies, we are committed to providing all dogs with healthy, 100 percent digestible treats and chews. Our single-ingredient treats contain no mystery meats and offer high-quality, all-natural products

At Barkworthies, we recognize the positive impact that animal rescue makes on individuals and families. Chews Rescue was created as a tribute to everyone that assists in animal rescue. To kick-off the Chews Rescue program, we launched a two month-long Facebook contest and will be making a $10,000 donation to the Richmond Animal League, a shelter that is local to our Richmond-based company.

*Tell us about the 2-month Facebook campaign that is going on where one pet can win a years’ worth of Barkworthies?
From March 1st through April 30th, pet parents are invited to support animal rescue by sharing their own photos of their rescue pets. For each Facebook entry received, we will be donating an additional $5 to the Richmond Animal League. At the conclusion of the campaign, one Facebook entry will be randomly selected to receive a year’s supply of Barkworthies treats and chews. Additionally, we will be making a 500-piece product donation to an animal shelter in the winner’s honor.

The contest is open only to legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia (“D.C.”) that are 18 years of age or older.  To enter, visit Barkworthies’ Facebook page at during the sweepstakes period, click on the “Chews Rescue” Sweepstakes page tab and follow the on-screen instructions for completing the entry. All entries must be submitted by 11:59pm central daylight time on April 30, 2016.

*As we know Barkworthies loves rescue animals, Tell me about your Barkworthies packaging?
Just last year, Barkworthies re-branded, which included unveiling new packaging. Every dog featured in our packaging and ads are shelter dogs.  We see ourselves as an innovative brand with a big heart, and all natural, healthy products that are deliciously appealing to canines. Our re-branding was meant to reflect these characteristics and help our products speak to our pet-loving customers on-shelf and online.
