Spike by Petcurean – Catfish, Venison, Turkey & Duck Flavor Treats [Product Review]

Today we are doing a pet product review on 4 different flavored Spike™  jerky treats from Petcurean. Petcurean was started in 1999 and to this day it is still owned by the two people who founded it in the Fraser Valley(hey! I was born there!)  which is located in my home province of  beautiful British Columbia! Petcurean products are sold exclusively through pet specialty retailers in Canada (I’ve found them around Fort McMurray at various pet stores), the United States, and plus more than 20 countries internationally (way to go petcurean!). We are very excited to be doing a review for them. Of course Rolo is already here drooling! I swear he can tell when I get a package and its for him.

Let’s start this product review!

First lets talk about the product design & packaging. It’s bright and bold and the flavor easily stands out! On the front side what may look like just the logo in these photos, but it is actually a clear window, which you all know how much I love those! Giving you a real peek at what your pet will be chomping down on. After all, some pets can be picky with what their food/treats look like. On the backside there are little cheeky “Spike Says” quotes that made me giggle like “when all else fails, sit pretty”. All I can say is adorable! There was also another cute  note on the backside. I will only say a share a few words from it ” Please Note: This product contains lip quivering, bum shaking, uncontrollable drooling, tail-chasing….” (Quotes Credit: Petcurean Spike Treats I love how fun these packages! Definitely not just the type I am going to open and give to my dog without reading and giggling. This brand has personality, and I am loving it! Below you can see what the actual treats look like outside of the package as I doubt Rolo will let me get a good snap of him chomping down on a treat. All are quite similar but up close you can spot slight differences.
petcurean2All of the Spike jerky treats contain some super-foods like chia seeds, pomegranate and kale which are nutrient-rich, high in fibre and packed with vitamins, minerals and antioxidants. They also contain pumpkin which is good for that digestive tract and is also an antioxidant. They are also free from by-products, added growth hormones, glycerin and artificial preservatives, flavors or colors. Not to mention they are grain & gluten-free! As you can tell by Rolo’s hilarious faces, he is enjoying all 4 of the treat flavors with his crazy googly eyes. In the first photo, he was totally eating my hand along with the treat, thank goodness he is gentle.
petcurean1I absolutely love using time-lapse on my iPhone! Rolo & I had a little fun making this short video as I haven’t done one for treat eating before. Trust me, he CAN totally eat 4 decent sized treats that fast in real life too! I swear in this video he is saying, more, ok more, ok more..uhh.. mom..more? fine… insert sad face. Enjoy!
