Ferris and Char Char Cosmetics has created a line of animal themed makeup that gives back to a partnered animal rescue with each purchase! From bb cream, eye shadow, blush, mascara and lip gloss just to name a few things they carry. We caught up with Amber Fawcett, the owner and founder for a little business spotlight to let you get to know her company before we post our sponsored product review of three shades of lovely lip glosses!
*How long has this business been around for?

*Why was this business started?
I wanted to help Animal Rescues so I found a way to do that with one of my favorite things, makeup!
*What does this business specialize in?
Animal Themed Cruelty Free Cosmetics.
*What makes your business different from other business’?
I think we are the only animal themed cosmetics line out there. All of our shades are named after famous animals like Lassie, Garfield and Mr. Bigglesworth. We also created a ‘Celebrity Animals of Instagram Lip Gloss Collection. We have some of the most famous animals of Instagram as part of the line. We are also a Social Enterprise that donates 10% of all sales to our participating animal rescues. Best part? The customer chooses which one! We have almost 80 partner rescues across Canada and the US.
*What is the business’ mission?
At Ferris and Char Char, our aim is to provide high quality, hypoallergenic, paraben-free makeup products which enhance a woman’s natural beauty. We also believe in enhancing the beauty of human compassion and empathy, so we made a conscientious decision to support animal welfare through our business. 10% of all sales is donated to our animal rescue partners. We are committed to the ideology of helping animals by supporting those whose purpose is to protect and improve their lives
*What is the price range of your products?
USD $14 – 25
CAD $16 – 28
*Any special events coming up this year for you?
Well, I have decided to audition for Dragon’s Den!! It’s a long-shot but worth a try! My goal is to transition Ferris and Char Char products to be completely Vegan and in order to do that I need an Investor to help cover the cost associated with that. With the help of an Investor we could also take our Online business into retail stores. (Above Photo Credit: http://www.facebook.com/ferrisandcharchar)
*Where do you see this business in 5 years?
I hope to see Ferris and Char Char products on the shelves of different retail stores and to have a larger presence on the web and social media outlets. We want to continue getting Celebrities involved to help spread the word about what we are trying to accomplish.
*What inspires you or the business?
Animals have always been my passion, I have helped support many rescues over the years and know what these amazing organizations can do with just a little financial help from their communities. The cruelty I have seen over the years and the complete lack of compassion and empathy for these helpless animals is what drives me to try and raise as much money as possible to help these animals have a chance at a better life. Animal rescue is probably one of the hardest jobs in the world and I can’t begin to explain my gratitude and respect to these people who go to the ends of the earth for these poor animals and continue to be their voice. They are truly who inspire me and my business
*Has this business won any awards?
Not yet, but hopefully one day! lol
*What do you plan to accomplish with your business in 2017?
I want Ferris and Char Char to have 20k followers on Instagram, I want to start transitioning our line to 100% vegan and I want to network and get us into stores!
*Do you do any charity work? If so, what?
We have started doing some fundraising with Ferris and Char Char. I had a woman contact me to ask if we could name a shade of makeup after her terminal pup. Honey was given 6 months to live but she has just turned 8 months and is now a candidate for surgery! The procedure will cost almost 10k and they need to raise some money. So I thought it was a great idea and we named one of our Matte Liquid Lipstick’s after Honey. 10% automatically goes to Honey and we donate an additional 10% if they choose her campaign at the check-out.
